Functions and Duties
The key functions of the GEIDB as per the State Development and Public Works Organisation (State Development Areas) Regulation 1998 include the implementation of a development scheme, management strategy and marketing plan for the GSDA to facilitate targeted investment, infrastructure and industry establishment. The Board also advises the Minister on matters relating to the establishment of infrastructure, the potential for the development of industry, and economic development within the GDR. The Board also undertakes an important industry and community liaison and coordination role in relation to development of the GSDA including infrastructure provision.
