Good Planning Brings a Bright New Dawn

Published in the Gladstone Observer

The first shipload of Queensland-sourced natural gas is due to leave Gladstone harbour in 2014.  If current projections are right this will be the beginning of a new and prosperous era and the birth of a new industry for Queensland that will generate billions of dollars and thousands of jobs.

The three most advanced projects led by Santos, Origin and QGC when completed will extract coal seam gas from thousands of wells on the Western Downs and the Surat Basin.  The gas will then be transported by pipeline to liquefied natural gas facilities on Curtis Island, before being shipped to customers around the world. The total current estimated ultimate project investment is more than $65 billion.   Continue Reading »
