Gladstone Port Expansion Projects

6th June, 2006

The RG Tanna Coal Terminal expansion is on track for the largest ever capital works program undertaken by CQPA this year, seeing the construction of a third rail unloading station, third shiploader and additional stockpiles. For progress information on expansion of the RG Tanna Coal Terminal click on Central Queensland Ports Authority.

In September 2005, the State Government declared Wiggins Island Coal Terminal a "significant project" under the provisions of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act. With the completion of Stage 1 for 2010 with an initial capacity of 20mpta, terminal will position Gladstone as one of the world's largest coal export ports. Also under investigation is the expansion of Fishermans Landing Wharf facilities servicing the Gladstone State Development Area.
